It was part of a research in social control. There was an initial mobile app project called As diferentonas which means “the super differents”. The main objective was to give the possibility to people know how the public money were being applied in cities which had size and population similar to the one that they lived and make some comparations.
I had the opportunity to create a second project following this ideia, but this time to be accessed from browsers. I created As Supercontratadas which means “the super contracteds”. In this project the user can still compare cities that have similar sizes, but this time the main focus is to track public money from federal government used to contract companies. It allows the users to find irregularities, for example.
As the only developer of this project, the language used were R and the data used were public and from brazilian federal government.
