It was part of a research in social control. There was an initial web app called Nossos Vereadores, Campina Grande which means “Our councilmen”. The main objective was to give the possibility to people knowing a bit more about the city councilors of Campina Grande. It includes questions like “who are they”, “how are they”, “how is their work” and “how much are they paid”.
I had the opportunity to contribute in a page of this website by creating a profile for each councilor and a rank for the ones who propose more in some areas. The profile were based on the themes of a councilor’s proposes. Users can see for example if someone who they voted for is working on what they promised or the next person they can vote in the next elections based on its current work.
As the only developer of this project, the language used were R and the data used were public and from the county of Campina Grande.
